TGM General Manager Mithat Doğan stated that he went to Italy to find a job after completing his military service in Iğdır and that he has been working as an "assembly technician" in the tower crane factory for 12 years. Stating that they turned to foreign markets because there is no tower crane factory in Turkey, Doğan said, "Our other general manager, Abdurrahman Karademir, was my military friend in Iğdır. After the military service, we decided to unite in Italy and expand the business. In Italy, the question 'What can we do together?' "As a result of the research, we said 'Let's do this' and decided to bring the factory to Turkey," he said.
Stating that they started production by establishing the factory in Düzce, Doğan said, "We were on the border together, and our friendship became even stronger when our paths crossed abroad. He is also my fellow countryman because he is from Sivas. This is how God brought us together. With God's permission, our path is clear from now on."
"We produced Turkey's first domestic tower crane"
Emphasizing that the tests in Turkey were successful, Doğan said that the patent and project of the crane they developed belong to them. "We have produced Turkey's first domestic tower crane," said Doğan, adding, "We have achieved one of the indispensable things. We have now obtained our production facilities and the 'CE' certificate. Our cranes are ready for sale. Turkish contractors and businessmen no longer need to go abroad and procure cranes." "We are in Düzce. They can get it from us," he said.
Noting that 80 percent of the domestic tower crane consists of local materials and 20 percent of the engine parts they procured from Italy, Doğan said, "There is no factory in Turkey that can produce the engine molds we want, but we have received offers now. As a result of our evaluations, we concluded the offers positively. "Hopefully, they will produce the engine parts in the mold we want and deliver them to us in a modern way. Thus, our crane will be Turkish made from A to Z in about three months," he said.
Explaining that one of the most important features of the crane is that it is tension-free and can rise to the desired height, Doğan stated that the installation and assembly stages of the crane are very easy and that it has a visually beautiful appearance. Pointing out that the machine has received approval from the Italian Ministry of Industry, Doğan said, "We have the patent for the tower crane in Turkey. We have 12 models of cranes, from small to large. We produce cranes in our factory that will appeal to everyone. Due to the high demand, we will expand our working area by giving dealers throughout the country. From outside "As incoming investors, we are expecting government support. We came all the way from Europe. Let them come and see our success," he said.
First order is from Iraq
General Manager Abdurrahman Karademir stated that only the transportation cost of the tower crane is 30 thousand euros and said, "The money going to the industry is approximately 80 million euros annually. As such, my soldier friend and I decided to do something for our country. We took responsibility and went to Düzce." "We opened a nice factory in Istanbul. Urban transformation has started. Turks no longer need to go and buy cranes from Europe. Turkey now has a domestic crane. We are very happy." Pointing out that the crane can easily lift a weight of 8 tons, Karademir stated that the tower crane can be used in building, bridge, road and viaduct construction. Stating that the demand for tower cranes is intense, Karademir said, "We received our first order from abroad from Iraq. Hopefully, we will start mass production as soon as possible. Currently, due to the economic crisis in Italy, the factory there cannot operate fully. From now on, we will meet the demands there as well." " said.
